Executive Team

  • Leo Farley, Chief Financial Officer

    The company's CFO, Leo Farley, has over twenty years of senior-level management experience in finance and accounting and operational roles. Prior to joining Envision EMI in January 2009, Leo held various executive finance positions with Sylvan Learning for seven years, including VP Finance, VP Controller and VP Business Development.

    Prior to Sylvan, Leo was a senior operations executive with Webvan, a dot.com grocery delivery start-up. Before joining Webvan, the majority of Leo’s professional career was spent in various senior finance and operational roles in the hospitality services industry while employed by Marriott, Sodexho Marriott and Sodexho Services.

  • Regan Lamb, Chief People Officer

    As the company's Chief People Officer, Regan Lamb is responsible for assembling the teams that develop and deliver all of Envision's high quality leadership development and life success skills programs, including hiring, vetting and training the faculty advisors that are on the front line of executing the company's innovative curriculum. Prior to assuming her current role, Regan worked for more than 13 years in developing, implementing and managing a wide array of the company's programs.

    Regan grew up overseas in Saudi Arabia and Yemen, and has traveled extensively throughout the world. She holds a B.A. in International Studies from American University, with an emphasis in cross-cultural communications.

  • Lisa Petrovich, Executive Vice President, Marketing Development

    Lisa Petrovich leads Envision EMI’s global sales and marketing departments. Ms. Petrovich directs the company’s marketing, campaign and sales strategy, as well as the operations of the admissions, technology and digital solutions teams.

    Through her comprehensive understanding of the company, and in-depth knowledge of disciplines including campaign management, multichannel marketing, systems and systems integration, Lisa has been responsible for redesigning Envision's marketing data architecture to support new business development launches as well as legacy programs.

    Ms. Petrovich’s professional experience prior to joining Envision includes leadership positions in the educational toy market, scientific news services and broadcasting fields. Ms. Petrovich earned an MBA from Marymount University and holds a BS from Virginia Tech.

  • Ted Stern, General Counsel

    Ted Stern is Envision EMI’s Chief Legal Counsel. Prior to joining the company, Ted was Associate General Counsel at Washington Post Digital (WPD), where he served as the head deal lawyer working on digital media, technology services, mobile, marketing, and content licensing deals for washingtonpost.com and the Slate family of Web sites. Over the course of his career, Ted has garnered more than 15 years of legal and business experience, including 11 years as an in-house counsel in the online, digital media, mobile and technology industries at several leading companies, including AOL, Amazon.com, ePals and WPD.

    Ted graduated from Columbia Law School in 1994, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and he holds a BA in American History from Columbia College where he graduated in the top 10% of his class in 1991. Ted and his wife live in Chevy Chase, D.C. with their six year old son and their two pug dogs.

Management Team

  • Thomas Carchia, Vice President, Marketing Creative and Strategy

    As the Vice President of Marketing Creative and Strategy, Mr. Carchia leads Envision’s efforts through all marketing channels to present its programs to educators, schools, parents, nominees and qualified students in the U.S., and around the world.

    As an experienced marketing professional, Mr. Carchia has designed, developed and lead the implementation of successful large-scale marketing campaigns and brings an impressive record of success working with private companies, corporations, political campaigns, non-profits and foundations.

    Mr. Carchia’s background includes 15 years on Capitol Hill leading the marketing initiatives for the campaigns of numerous U.S. Senate candidates, U.S. Senators, members of Congress and a high-profile U.S. presidential candidate, as well as for non-profit organizations and foundations. He co-founded a successful direct marketing company specializing in political campaign marketing and non-profit fundraising.

    Prior to joining Envision, Mr. Carchia successfully led and directed marketing efforts in the travel and events industry, including as the Marketing and Charter Director for the Titanic Expedition, and as Consumer Marketing Manager for a major cruise line.

  • Brian DeMoss, Director, Marketing Strategy & Analytics

    Brian DeMoss joined Envision in February 2006 and serves as the Director of Marketing Strategy & Analytics. Within this role, he is responsible for the development, implementation and reporting of the multiple marketing initiatives for our educational services.

    Prior to joining Envision, Mr. DeMoss held marketing and sales positions within IT consulting management firms and the health related non-profit sector. He earned an M.B.A. from American University and holds a B.A. from the University of Mary Washington.

  • Mike Donnarumma, Vice President, Global Sales

    Michael Donnarumma is currently the Vice President of Global Sales at Envision EMI. His responsibilities include the role of strategic direction in the areas of key business retention, market penetration and developing new partnerships. He also has designed goal-based performance plans for sales members throughout the world.

    Michael joined Envision after nearly 20 years of service at QSP/Time, the nation’s largest youth fundraising organization. At QSP, Michael developed unique fundraising programs for New York City public, private schools and National Accounts. Michael served as Vice President, National Accounts and was instrumental in creating an innovative digital platform which significantly impacted the outreach ability for national organizations. Michael also developed integrated educational fundraising opportunities for Girl Scouts USA, Boy Scouts, and Kappa Delta. Michael received numerous awards for his contributions to fundraising.

    Michael completed his undergraduate degree at Fordham University and attended the General Management Program at Harvard University in 2007. Michael holds a patent for an invention he created in 1993 and currently lives on Long Island with his wife Elizabeth.

  • Anne Glynn, Director, Marketing Operations & Execution

    Ms. Glynn joined Envision in 1999 and since then has served in numerous roles within the marketing department including most recently as Director of Marketing Operations and Execution. Ms. Glynn is a graduate of Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania where she earned a BA in Political Science and a minor in history and studied at the K. Robert Nilsson Center for European Studies in Bologna, Italy. Originally from the DC area, Ms. Glynn currently lives in Rockville, Maryland with her husband and son.

  • Kelly Pickeral, Director, Database Marketing

    As the Director of Database Marketing, Kelly Pickeral is responsible for optimizing Envision’s marketing data solution and infrastructure. Prior to joining Envision in November of 2010, Kelly led the Marketing Solutions team for AOL, Inc. and successfully directed large-scale, strategic initiatives including sophisticated data enhancements, complex system consolidations/migrations and identity management implementation.

    With over 10 years of database marketing and marketing campaign history, Kelly also has a history in IT consulting/programming for companies such as Capital One, LandAmerica and McKesson. In addition, Kelly enjoyed instructing computer classes for nonprofit agencies.

    Kelly earned a BA from Virginia Tech in Communications and lives with her husband and two sons in Round Hill, Virginia.

  • Marguerite Regan, Ph.D., Dean of Academic Affairs

    As Envision EMI’s Dean of Academic Affairs, Dr. Regan has worked for more than 18 years developing age-appropriate curriculum for elementary, middle school, high school and college students across all the company’s programs.

    Prior to joining Envision, Marguerite served as the policy analyst for the President’s Intergovernmental Advisory Council on Education, where she wrote reports, including a nationally-recognized report on teacher education. A former high school social studies teacher and department chairperson for the Chicago Public School system, Marguerite also wrote curriculum that resulted in pilot projects and courses instituted in the Chicago high schools. In addition she chaired evaluation teams and drafted reports on curriculum for high school accreditation.

    Marguerite received her Ph.D. in Political Science from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, and has taught at the college level. A member of the National Council on Social Studies, she has been a yearly presenter and has served on the Instruction Committee.

Program Team

  • Adam Austin, Director, JrNYLC & JAB

    Adam is the Director, Junior National Young Leaders Conference, our program designed for mature, motivated middle school students. He has also worked as a program coordinator for the Global Young Leaders Conference, the National Young Leaders State Conference and the National Youth Leadership Forum on Law.

    A Washington, D.C. native, Adam attended Bethune-Cookman College on a golf scholarship where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in Business Administration. He subsequently earned his law degree from Nova Southeastern University, with a concentration in International Legal Studies. This past year, Adam was one of two amateur cyclists featured on the Discovery Channel documentary "Riding the Tour De France."

  • Amanda Freitag, Director, GYLC-US & NYLC

    An alumna of Envision’s programs, Amanda is currently the Program Director for the National Young Leaders Conference and the Global Young Leaders Conference. Amanda has served in various programmatic and supervisory roles with the National Young Leaders Conference, the Global Young Leaders Conference, the National Young Leaders State Conference, the National Young Scholars Program and the 2009 Presidential Inaugural Conferences.

    Amanda received her B.A. in Political Science with a concentration in environmental studies from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. She studied identity politics in Ireland and the United Kingdom. She also spent time conducting research at Columbia’s Biosphere 2 Center in Oracle, Arizona.

  • R. Derrick Thomas, Director, NYLF LAW/MED/NS

    R. Derrick Thomas serves as the Program Director for the National Youth Leadership Forum’s programs on Law and CSI, Medicine, and National Security. He has also served as a Faculty Advisor for the International Scholar Laureate Program.

    A native Floridian, Derrick attended the University of Central Florida on an Honors Scholarship where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He continued his education at Eastern Kentucky University where he earned a Master of Arts in Student Personnel Services. Derrick has worked in higher education for over ten years including serving as a University Instructor at Stony Brook University.

  • Ellen Bernhardt, Director, Scholar Experience

    Ellen Bernhardt serves as the Director of the Scholar Experience Team, which is comprised of the Scholar Services and Speaker and Congressional Affairs Teams. It is responsible for implementing and streamlining cross-program functions with the purpose of building relationships, streamlining and standardizing processes and providing stability to enhance the scholar experience. Prior to this role, Ellen served as senior director of international programs and a director, program coordinator, operations team member, faculty advisor and conference assistant for many of the company’s other programs since 1999.

    Prior to Envision, she taught international and domestic secondary students and worked in marketing and sales for a local nonprofit organization, assisting with its annual conference. Originally from the Chicago area, she graduated from Butler University in Indiana with degrees in French and international management. She has also taken classes through the International Partnership for Service-Learning in Montpellier, France, and Harvard University’s Executive Education on Women and Power: Leadership in a New World.

  • Matt Castrina, Director, International Programs

    As Director, International Programs, Matt oversees the International Scholar Laureate Program and the Global Young Leaders Conference - China. Since 2003 he has developed and implemented programs for high-achieving high school, university and continuing education students in Australia, Austria, China, Czech Republic, Hungary, India and South Africa.

    Prior to joining Envision EMI, Matt worked for two years in the Czech Republic as an English teacher. He is a graduate of La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

  • Linda Keller, Director, Learning

    Linda Keller (Director of Learning) has been a learning and development professional for 18 years, focusing primarily on connecting people development to organizational growth. She has worked with a variety of firms and industries across the United States, including Fortune 500 companies, privately held firms, and non-profit organizations. She also has founded and owned her own business in two different fields. Linda is a graduate of Kendall College of Art and Design and holds numerous Learning and Development certifications. In her spare time, Linda is developing a product focused on experiential activities that will open communication between individuals and among teams to improve business success.

  • Rob Webb, Director of Conference Services and Vendor Relations

    Rob Webb currently serves as the Director of Conference Services and Vendor Relations – overseeing the areas of: Contract & Vendor Management, Scholar Services and Speaker & Congressional Affairs. Rob joined Envision in April of 2011. Prior to joining Envision, Rob was the Director of The Conference Center at Bentley University (located in Waltham, Massachusetts) for 15 years. He also served on the Board of Directors of ACCED-I (Association of Collegiate Conference and Event Directors International) for six years – including a term as President of the association.

    Rob holds a CMP (Certified Meeting Professional), and has a BS from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst, as well as a MBA and Graduate Certificate in Business Ethics from Bentley University. He now lives in Reston, VA with his wife and two children.
