National Young Leaders
State Conference (NYLSC)

Turning Leadership Potential Into Leadership Ability

An introspective, 4-day experience, The National Young Leaders State Conference (NYLSC) offers 6th through 9th grade high-achievers a unique opportunity, through the insight and guidance of highly trained facilitators and the assistance of their peers, to discover skills and values that will benefit them throughout this critical phase of their lives.

Built on a curriculum that focuses on the eight core leadership power tools, NYLSC students engage in exercises that will leave them with greater self-confidence to help them make a difference in their communities.

  • NYLSC students take part in leadership exercises that build confidence and public speaking skills, as well as administrative acumen, creativity, and presentation abilities.
  • Scholar committees demonstrate to students how to actively participate in leadership tasks such as project planning and research.
  • At the conclusion of the program, students bring all of their newly-developed skills to bear as they organize, develop and produce their own graduation experience.

Space in this program is limited and will be filled in the order in which students enroll. Use the appropriate links to choose your preferred session date and enroll now, or for more detailed program information, visit our dedicated website at www.cylc.org/nylsc today.

"Haiden's participation … was definitely a life changing experience. We carried in a "little guy" and returned on the 4th day to pick up a young man. There were problem solving situations as well as being exposed to different leadership roles. This experience was the BEST!"

– Michael and Carol Hughes, Parents of NYLSC Student
